I joined a new primary school when I was about 8 years old. At the beginning of every academic year, a new theme would be set by the headmistress and it was the most fascinating thing I had encountered yet in the school. That year the theme was “The sky is not the limit, it’s the springboard”. I’ve been living with my head in the clouds ever since, dreaming big dreams and making the extra effort to chase them one by one.
Hi, my name’s Lily and I’m a storyteller by heart. That’s the professional way to say I’ve always been a yapper. The only way to shut me up was to give me a book to read. After reading, I’d just come back and talk your ears off about the plot and lessons learned so I’d be given book after book to keep me occupied growing up.
Eventually, from my prepubescent years, I started putting my thoughts and words to paper. I wanted to create my own fantasy world just like the authors I read so I went on a mission to find my own voice. From fairytales, to comic strips, to novelletes, to exhortations and personal development, I’ve tried it all. Have I found my voice yet? Well I can at least confidently say now that it’s still a work in progress.
This blog is the manifestation of one of my many big dreams. To be a storyteller that inspires. Currently, the focus is being a digital journal for documenting the many phases of my adulting odyssey. As I grow, I hope it reflects over here and so I hope you stick around for a bit.
